Songs from the Witches Wood

Released June, 2009

This release is an all vocal collection. The title refers to the area at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire's where Kate used to play, and where many of the songs were conceived or debuted. The Witches Wood was the back of the Faire where all the readers and mystics were. Oh if those tree's could talk!

Songs from the Witches Wood contains several songs that put Kate on the map, so to speak. The album also contains never before released material and one newly recorded bonus track. Kate has added some additional instrumentation to many of the tracks so that they will offer you a new listening experience even if you were familiar with the original.

Songs from the Witches Wood contains selections from Kate's early recordings: Hungry Moon, Dreams of Annywn, Not Far From Here, and the Time Between, which were recorded in various studios in Santa Barbara between 1984 and 1993, engineered and produced by Daniel Protheroe and Bill Griffin. Songs from the Witches Wood also contains never released selections from the never completed Songs of Love and Madness (1987) which Kate recorded with James Briton Hendricks, as well as a newly recorded bonus track. Songs from the Witches Wood was compiled, reworked and and reinvented at Studio E, Sebastopol, CA, Jeff Martin, Jason Andrews engineering.
